Food is our common ground, a universal experience
I'm Sophie, 19 years and born and raised in Breda. I study communication at De Rooi Pannen in Tilburg. Food is a different experience for everyone, some enjoy a lot of chocolate and others enjoy meat. I have been a vegetarian for years, many people think it is strange. I often get the question how? I could not do what you do I would really miss meat though. For me it’s really not that hard, I don't miss it at all and I know actually remember how it tastes anymore.
From the moment I had decided to become a vegetarian, I started to do more with food. In the beginning it was not that much because I did not know how to cook. Nowadays I cook almost every day, often it is simple food, such as Dutch or Italian cuisine. I find cooking awfully fun to do and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty for it. Despite that I don't eat meat do I make prepare it. My friend is the largest meat eater I know, for that reason, I am also not averse to prepare meat.
I myself am really a true sweet tooth, I like to make desserts and sweets. Baking is still more fun than cooking because you can make many people happy with a cake or pie. Comfort food is one of my favourite things to make. Not that I don't like eating healthy because most of the time I watch what I eat. But so now and then you may treat yourself and then I bake fresh sweets.
